Senior ABS Portfolio Manager
PIMCO is seeking to recruit a senior ABS Portfolio Manager/Trader based in Newport Beach, CA to augment the existing portfolio management effort. This individual will work with two Managing Directors to develope and execute relative value and derivatives strategies across PIMCO’s portfolios, and in managing PIMCO’s structured credit and/or ABS strategies.
The ABS Portfolio Manager/Trader will establish key relationships with PIMCO’s portfolio managers, account managers and product managers, as well as clients and counterparties. He/She will assist in the overall management of PIMCO’s structured credit and/or ABS portfolios and generate ideas for relative value trades across PIMCO’s portfolios. He/She will also implement cash and derivatives strategies and execute trades while communicating market information and trends to other investment professionals within the firm.
The position will report to Dan Ivascyn, Managing Director and Portfolio Manager, who has overall responsibility for the ABS portfolio.
Candidate Qualifications
Experience
· 6+ years experience as a structured credit and/or ABS portfolio manager trading U.S. and/or global fixed income securities with a relative value emphasis.
· Demonstrated expertise in executing large and complex derivative trades on a highly cost effective basis.
· Ability to generate ideas and strategies that enhance portfolio returns and mitigate risk.
·Experience from any one of a wide range of platforms including hedge funds, proprietary trading, dealer desks or funds management.
·Strong academic credentials and achievement, with an advanced finance/analytic/applied science degree preferred.
