Mercury Air Group, Inc. was founded in 1956 by three members of the legendary First American Volunteer Group (AVG) Flying Tigers—Thomas C. Haywood, Robert P. “Duke” Hedman and Robert J. “Catfish” Raine. In all the history of aerial combat, there has never been such a total air victory as that of the Flying Tigers during World War II.
