Work to Improve Your Life

Did you make a New Year’s resolution? Well, even if it's March, it’s not too late!

While some of us balk at the weighty sound of resolutions, it’s hard to find anyone who won’t admit that at least one area of their life needs improving. Instead of making resolutions, think of it as setting intentions for positive change. But first ask yourself if the desire for change comes from within yourself or from external pressures. Then ask why is change really needed in this situation?

When you’re clear about the point of making change in the first place, you’re more likely to succeed in keeping your newly set goals. These four remain popular year to year:

1. Get Out of Debt

Taking control of your financial life means setting up a plan and sticking to it. Spend less than what you bring in, make tough choices to forego nonessential items, and commit yourself to paying down the credit card debt. Find tips on steps to take to get out of debt and manage your credit at the Beating Bankruptcy Blog.

2. Gain Fitness & Health

With the holidays behind us, many of us have more behind us. Getting rid of the "junk in the trunk" can be a daunting task. You’re not alone. Find out more at the Trying Fitness Blog.

3. Spend More Time With Family & Friends

Recent studies have proven that happiness is contagious, especially to those we are in closest proximity to. However, researchers also found that social networking online has similar results. The important thing is to reach out and share. Get together with loved ones nearby; call, email and share photos and experiences via a personal website. If you don’t have a Facebook page, now’s the time to sign up.

4. Find a More Inspiring Job

While the job market’s tight, if you’re feeling stuck and uninspired, you owe it to yourself to at least try to find something better. Dust off the resume, plan your wardrobe, begin your search. Working World magazine and WorkingWorld.com are great resources for new opportunities in the job market.
